Green Jobs Are In High Demand - Studentscholarships.org

With today's gas prices soaring to unbelievable levels and the ongoing debate on global warming, it's no surprise people have turned to using green energy to preserve earth's natural energy and use it towards our everyday lifestyle.

In the past our economy thrived on the oil industry and the idea that ‘bigger is better'; bigger vehicles for bigger jobs, bigger homes for more room, and bigger corporations for better efficiency. Unfortunately, as America got bigger, so did the demand for oil, resulting in the highest gas prices this world has ever seen. Bigger trucks became gas guzzlers, cooling those big houses started to empty banks, and without those big trucks and A/C to cool off the workers, those big corporations produced less. So what was America to do?

The answer became quite clear in mid-2007-2008, green energy. Why not build factories that get their energy from solar energy and preserve it? And with cars, why not invent a car that is less gas efficient and pollutes less, and make it earth friendly?  The earth went evolved into a ‘get green' frenzy. According to StudentScholarships.org, ‘Green' became the new slogan for making this earth a safer place to live. Nowadays when you're buying a home, you hear less about the cool little knick-knacks your potential new home has to offer and more about how green friendly it is.  In Spring, TX, architects dedicated an entire neighborhood to green energy homes and called their idea, Discovery Homes. On the roof of each home are several solar panels to capture the sun's energy, the equipment used to build the home were made to be green safe, and they tore down less trees to build these houses. What these brilliant men did was basically expand the way people perceived green energy, and showed them you can still live how you wish and be earth friendly by doing so.

In the end, if today's youth focused their gifted minds in green energy, as a generation we could make a strong difference in our world, the place we love so much, and shake off some of the negative perceptions past generations have noted us to be; lazy, careless, lackadaisical, rude, arrogant, etc.  Also, of great importance is the fact that many institutions are providing financial incentives for students interested in this field.  Green Scholarships are becoming much more prevelant.

In business we could find ways to sell green energy and convince the buyer that this decision is the best choice to make, in arithmetic, mathematicians can add up how much energy we've wasted in the past and the amount of solar energy it would take to function an entire home, and engineers could invent new vehicles that run more on energy and less on oil. There are so many different ways today's youth could change the world, but in all honesty, time and mind-power would be better served focusing on green energy and how to better preserve this earth.
