Colonics Clean Pipes Better Health
What is a Colonic? A colonic is called colon hydrotherapy, or colonic irrigation. A colonic is the infusion of water into the rectum by a colon hydro therapist to cleanse and flush out the colon.
What is involved in a Colonic? In a colonic you take off your pants and under wear and lay on your back on a colon hydrotherapy table. You stay covered in towel. The therapist gives you a glove and some petroleum jelly or ky gel in a cup. They give you instructions on what to do and then leave the room.
You put the lubricant on your rectum and then slide the prelubed speculum or hose into your rectum. Then you lie back and ring the bell, to let them know that you are ready. They will come in with soft relaxing music playing and turn on the water to start filling your colon up.
Is the water Cold? The water is usually about 102 degrees. When your colon gets full you feel like you need to go to the bathroom. Just hold it as long as you can, then the therapist will tell you to just let it go.
What else happens during a colonic? As the waste and feces wash out of your colon you can see it go through a clear tube. The therapist can see what kind of waste comes out whether it is undigested food, hard small pellets, or yeast etc. And surprisingly enough there is no smell. It seems like it should really stink, but it doesn't.
A therapist may give you an infrared vibrating device to hold on your abdomen which is suppose to help your liver dump its waste, You can move it around to different locations where you need it most.
How long does it last? A session will run about 45 minutes to an hour. You may feel cramping as your liver gets ready to dump its waste or as hard fecal matter is getting ready to break loose. When it's over the therapist will leave the room and allow you privacy to pull the speculum out and wipe off the lubricant and get dressed. The therapist will advise you whether you need another visit based on how you feel.
What are some of the reasons to get a colonic? If you have been having bad constipation or irritable bowl syndrome then a colonic could benefit you by rehydrating your colon and getting the hard impacted feces out of you. If you have been having pain and feeling like you need to go to the bathroom but you can't then colon therapy may help you. If you have diverticulosis or diverticulitis and haven't had a bowl movement in a while then a colonic could help to clean you out and get things moving again.
If your bowel movements are slow or thick and smelly, then a colonic could help you. I recommend looking up colonics online and educate yourself about them. I have found that 2 or 3 have been sufficient for me, as I have diverticulosis. A clean colon is good for your overall health, because it's the sewer system that carries out all the waste that the body can't use. So be good to your colon, and your colon will be good to you. 3-21-2010 9:14pm Saturday Timothy Edward Wilhelm
