Spike Classic
Spike Lee is the best director. Can anyone challenge me on this?

Do The Right Thing, Inside Man, School Daze, Malcolm X, Jungle Fever. These are timeless classics that tackle real life issues such as race, religion, drug addiction, interracial love, and other real life, controversial issues. I could continue to name other movies like He Got Game, Mo Betta Blues, and so on but I feel like I made my point. Although he has never won an Academy award for best Director, But we know that due to his subject matter (particularly race) he wont. But it doesn't matter. He is still the best. And Miracle At Saint Anna looks like yet another classic. Any challengers?
Paul I will definently listen. Thats why it is a challenge
I can agree with Steven Spielberg

I don't know if "The Best" is the right phrase. What he is however, is a director with guts, vision and a style that's completely his own. Regardless of the themes he tackles(often controversial but what better medium than film for controversy?) Does he piss off a lot of people?Yup. Is that a good thing? It depends. Do you chase an accolade or do you keep to your ideals and buck the system every chance you get? Do you put race relations in the US right out there where people live as part of your craft?Or do you kiss a lot of a$$ for an award that's only as good as your last picture? The Best?I don't know. I'm comfortable with GENIUS though
